Hi! I'm Orly Gueron, a relationship specialist and licensed marriage and family therapist – and your new Jump Start partner. With a Master's degree in Marriage
and Family therapy from the University of Miami and over twelve years of experience (eight in private practice), relationship counseling is truly my passion.
(In fact, I'm so passionate about it that I do it in two languages – I'm fully bilingual in both English and Hebrew).
Over the years, I have completed Level I and Level II training with the Gottman institute, the leading research based method for Relationship Counseling and
have attended seminars with Dr. Sue Johnson, the founder of Emotion Based Therapy (of EFT).
Like I said, relationships have always been my passion – so, while I obtained my Master's degree, I worked at Miami Children's Hospital in the psychiatric unit, as part of my
practicum experience and obtained a certificate of completion in pediatric and adolescence psychiatry. Whew, that's a mouth full!
My work experience in the hospital included individual, group, and family therapy with inpatient and outpatient children, as well as adolescents diagnosed
with various conditions (who had endured traumas or were faced with difficult home environments).
I also worked in school settings, providing individual, group, and family counseling to emotionally disabled adolescents diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Depression, or Anxiety, as well as victims of sexual, emotional, and physical abuse.
Sometimes, you have to blaze a trail – and it was my turn! While I adored working with children in both a school and hospital setting, I soon realized
that if only the child was receiving counseling, it would prove ineffective unless the entire family system experienced a real change.
This was MY moment! My Jump Start MOMENT!
From that point forward, I dedicated my practice and all my efforts to helping individuals and couples achieve a new state of true happiness in their relationships – so they could become "relationship masters" rather than relationship disasters!
As a relationship specialist, I've had the priviledge of jump starting countless relationships,
marriages, and families! There is no greater reward!
I believe the ability to change is within us all...and within YOU! I believe that my role as a psychotherapist is to help individuals and
couples harness their inner strength and discover the tools they already have within to begin their "jump start" journey of love and life.
